About Us
Rescue Ridge is an all-volunteer, non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of stray, neglected and abused animals. Our volunteers work tirelessly to provide safe, loving environments for homeless dogs and cats (and sometimes other critters, too).
The animals come to us in many different ways. Some, we rescue from high-kill shelters. Others have been abandoned by the very individuals to whom the animals had been entrusted. Still others are surrendered due to financial concerns, illness, or housing issues/evictions.
Since 2002, when founder Terry Willis rescued an emaciated, severely neglected horse named “Ridge”, we have been a beacon of hope for animals in central NJ. We also strive to be good citizens of our community, helping other rescue organizations and pet owners in need.
