Make a Difference for Animals in Need
Become a part of our mission to rescue and rehabilitate animals, giving them a second chance at life.
Our Mission and Vision
Rescue Ridge is dedicated to saving homeless dogs and cats near the Jersey Shore. We provide a safe haven for animals in need, offering them love, care, and the opportunity for a new beginning. Volunteering with us means becoming a vital part of this mission, helping us to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals who deserve a second chance.
We are always in need of volunteers to walk and socialize dogs, socialize cats, clean kennels and cages, and transport animals to adoption events and/or veterinary appointments. We also have a strong network of volunteers who coordinate events, help with administrative tasks and fundraising efforts, and educate and advocate for animals in our community.
Your help is priceless in contributing to enriching the lives of our precious animals in need. Whether you want to help with dogs, cats, events, or administrative duties, we’d love to hear from you.
What Our Volunteers Say
“I have been a proud volunteer with Rescue Ridge since 2015. Everyone involved with this organization is passionately dedicated to saving animals in need and serving their community. The generosity of spirit is amazing to see.

Carole Sandy
Merchandise Coordinator
“As a dog walker, I have the unique opportunity to witness the joy and transformation that comes from rescuing a dog. Many of the dogs I walk have been through tough experiences before finding their forever homes. It’s heartwarming to see their personalities blossom as they gain trust and confidence.“

Charles Parmese
Dog Walker
“Volunteering for Rescue Ridge is the best decision I have ever made. I am so proud of their dedication, and love the happy endings we make possible for so many animals. I am so grateful for Rescue Ridge.”

Jackie Misiewicz
Event Volunteer
“I love being part of the Rescue Ridge family for many reasons, but my favorite part is helping the dogs make the transformation from being homeless and neglected to becoming beloved, valued members of a family.”

Michelle Yanstick
Adoption Coordinator

Volunteer Orientation
You don’t need experience to help enrich the lives of homeless animals. Volunteers 18 years + can simply bring your passion and hard work, and an experienced Rescue Ridge volunteer will teach you all that you need to know to get started. Junior volunteers are also welcome, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
