FOSTERING FAQs

N

Is it expensive to foster?

We often do take on animals with extensive needs, but Rescue Ridge takes on all of the financial burden of any foster pet that we place in your home.

N

For how long will I have to foster this animal?

Ideally, all foster animals remain with their foster family until they are adopted. If you have a concern based on scheduling, we might be able to find a solution that works. Simply communicate these issues before you begin to foster so we can work with you to keep your foster pet safe and happy.

N

What if the foster animal is not a good fit?

We try very hard to ensure that your foster is a fit for your two and four legged family members, but sometimes it is not a good match. We’ll work to get that animal placed in another foster home as quickly as it is safe to do so.

N

What happens if I decide to adopt?

We love “foster fails”! That means that we have done our job and placed an animal in a safe and loving environment. Sometimes adoption is the right decision, but often times a foster family wants to continue saving more animals, and will happily send this pet to another loving family that has been carefully screened.
